Spending hours in front of computer tends to get boring. On a busy day, you have no time to leave desk and do something interesting.
Hence, you need changes in two aspects to overcome boredom:
1. Sort out daily workflow.
2. Lessen stress/strain on body, mind, eyes.
Slow down a bit for few minutes every now and then. Working at a fast pace without break adds up fatigue and boredom.
Avoid getting stuck on a daunting task for an entire day. Switch in between to other assignments and break the monotony.
Whenever boredom strikes, pick a daily work you feel passionate about. Like, some creative work will be less tedious.
Learn to use a digital tool or keyboard shortcuts to improve workflow. Learning a new skill has its own excitement.
Maintain a healthy and comfortable posture. Keep monitor at eye level to stop slouching. A bad neck strain means bad mood.
Release stiffness from neck, shoulders, and back with gentle stretching. It reduces physical stress and help you to focus on work.
Reduce eye strain. Look at an object about 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Repeat this in every 20 minutes.
Practice normal blinking as well.
The sameness in your surroundings can cause boredom too. Reset workspace at frequent intervals to give it a different look.
Declutter your computer. Unorganized digital files and folders create chaos and confusion. Delete files, screenshots, emails, etc. which are of no use.
Know your limits and set goals accordingly. Meeting your own expectations ensure a satisfying experience at work.
